2. Alignment with GFSI Benchmarking v2024 requirements: This will ensure that the scheme is aligned with the latest Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards.
3. Support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): The updated version will include enhanced requirements to help organizations contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.
4. Improvement of the structure of food chain categories: A clearer structure for dividing food chain categories will be provided, which will improve clarity and applicability.
5. Editorial changes and continuous improvement: Various editorial changes will be made as part of the ongoing efforts to improve the scheme.

Transition period
After the publication of version 7, certification bodies and certified organizations will be given a 12-month transition period to implement the new requirements. This period will allow for a smooth transition and adaptation to the new standards.
